Reese Benson

President & Licensed General Contractor

Reese is a 4th generation Athenian. He spent much of his early work life in the family business where he oversaw the construction of 2 hotels in Athens. He then decided to pursue a formal degree in the industry that fuels his passions for creativity and construction. He received his Bachelor’s in Construction Management from Southern Polytechnic University. After earning his degree, he moved back to Athens and continued to work in the family business. His ties to Bensons ended abruptly in July 2013 and Reese made the bold decision to start his own business. He established Candid Constructions Services in August 2013 and has been building this business through his incredible work ethic and unmatched creativity and design talents. Candid Construction specializes in custom homes, additions/renovations, and commercial construction. Clients working with Reese marvel at his personal attention to their project and the unique design ideas he brings to the project. Reese’s projects have won Historic Preservation Awards and the accolades of his clients. In addition to serving his clients, Reese serves his community in many ways. He’s a long-standing board member of the Boys and Girls Club and he often builds whatever Danielle tells him to as they serve Hope Haven and ESP. Reese loves being a dad to 2 little girls. On the weekends you will find him with his family and you may see him modeling hot pink fingernails courtesy of Hadley and Harper.

Danielle Benson

Vice President and “The Boss” as Reese calls her.

Even before Danielle moved to Athens to build her own small business, she always knew Athens was home. Her love of Athens began when she went to her top college choice, the University of Georgia, to earn her Bachelor’s in Business Administration. After completing her degree, she left for Atlanta to pursue her career, but she never stopped thinking of Athens – the city that captured her heart. Twelve years later, she moved back to Athens, knowing that it was her true, forever home. She was right. Shortly after she returned, she opened her first business, Massage Envy. In that same week, she began dating her husband, Reese Benson, and they were married within the year. Since then, they have been blessed with two beautiful children, Hadley and Harper. They have also opened more businesses together, including Candid Construction Services which she co-manages with her husband; Danielle sold Massage Envy in early 2021 which gives her more time to work on custom design for Candid’s clients and immerse herself in operations. Danielle knows there is always more she could be doing for the people around her. That drive led her to join many local volunteer organizations, such as Hope Haven of Northeast Georgia, Extra Special People, and the Junior League of Athens. As a volunteer, she has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for individuals with developmental disabilities. In addition to her non-profit service, Danielle proudly serves on the Board of Directors of Pinnacle Bank, the best community bank in Georgia and in 2019 was appointed to serve as the Vice Chair of the GA Access to Medical Cannabis Commission by Governor Brian Kemp.
